Hi should there be a temperature difference between two xeon processors running on a z8pe-d18 server board? Mine is currently running stable at 30 for cpu 1 and 25 for cpu 2. BTW VCORE1 is higher too 1.2V and VCORE2 is at 1..13V which maybe the reason. I suppose the first porcessor does most of the work unless more is needed is my theory.

The Vcore difference explains it. Can you adjust them? If so, raise 2 by .05V

No 2 processors r t same - if t Vcore is set t an auto setting in yo BIOS yo PC may simply b detectin it needs t put slighly more voltage through it t get t required performance, which will then also cause high temps - nothin t worry about

I completely agree with i7Baby. The temperature and voltage differences line up too perfectly to be coincidence.

More volts = more heat.
