Hi everyone,

The netbook in question is a Toshiba Satellite C55-A-14X (PSCG6E).

I'm looking to securely erase the hard drive with DBAN before I sell the laptop in a few days. I downloaded the ISO and used Universal USB Installer to write it to the USB.

When I boot, the netbook doesn't even acknowledge an attempt to boot from USB. If I press F12 and manually select USB from the boot menu, it entirely ignores it and skips to the next option.

I appreciate any help here. I've tried three different USB drives and an SD card so far, same results with all. The BIOS is set to CSM boot (not UEFI). Fast boot is disabled.

Thanks for any responses.

Check another type of boot stick and check the one you made with another system. It may be that the USB stick is not actually bootable. Also try a different port if you have not. If you have USB3 and USB2 ports, use the USB2 ones.
