I installed Google Chrome when Firefox was just getting too tedious. A day or so after doing this my screen 'pixelated' and locked up. I then got a BSOD with a 0x00000019 stop code and a bad_pool_header message. I restarted and it worked fine for about 10 minutes, then the same thing. This happened about 3 times. Now it will not boot past the initial windows screen.

I have tried to get to safe mode but it gets stuck on the loading driver's page.
I have tried last known good config and it gets stuck on 'loading files'. For some odd reason I have not tried to get into bios and run any tests....I will tonight.

After one of the 'successful' restarts I got a notification message that the NVidia driver recovered from a crash and has recovered. I also have received a different BSOD screen a couple of times. It has said the display driver failed (or something similar to this) I have also received some different stop codes 0x0000000000000003 adn 0xffffffa80028f1340 and 0x00000116. The 0x00000019 stop code and a bad_pool_header message seem to be the primary issue.

The screen also has periodic lines on it and the entire screen on the Windows screen is pixelated blue all around except on the square around the Windows logo. The splash screen and all others have different vertical lines and the Advanced Options page is also pixelated blue around the outside 2/3 of the screen.

I am guessing this maybe a memory issue (could be wishful thinking though).

Any ideas?? I will update later with my results of trying to get into BIOS.

Thanks in advance!!!

just another example

Got "BAD-POOL-HEADER" blue screen a couple minutes ago. Had multiple tabs on google chrome running and watching videos on youtube, disk defragmenter running and then i got this blue screen with code 0x00000019 (0x00000020, etc...).

I don't know if NVidia has this like amd with the hd audio in the driver and shows a hot fix if not already installed

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2832829

but I still think its chrome seeing you said it occurred right after you installed it

but.... if you can get back in and uninstall the NVidia drivers and get it back to the windows default driver [the base driver for NVidia cards built in to windows] just like it was when you first install a card then shut dowm remove the card and reseat it hook it back up reboot to windows back on the default driver then reload the NVidia driver [I like to down load the driver from NVidia to a folder on the desktop and install from it] reboot and see if its good then

WOW!! Looks like that was it.Some how I was able to get it to boot and uninstalled chrome right away. No further issues. CRAZY!! Thanks for the insight, even with a new install of chrome, I would have never suspected a total shutdown like that.

THANKS AGAIN!!
