Another "Can't update to 8.1" question

I've seen this question asked many times, but haven't found someone with the same problem as me.

I have an activated version of windows 8 pro on my Asus B121 tablet, all windows updates are installed. The update to 8.1 isn't in the store, and when I run the windows 8.1 update trouble shooter it says "your pc is running an enterprise or volume licensed". Why would this be if I have windows 8 pro?

Hope someone can help, thanks!

I'm guessing it's because you have a torrented copy of windows. With some enterprise hack to make it legit. I bought a win8 key and had no problems installing win8.1. So I've got to ask, how legal is your windows?

It is not a legit version of windows, the b121 that I got didn't come with the pro version of windows 8, and I did get the pro version through different means. Does this mean that if I reinstall the legit standard windows 8 that I have that I should have no problem?

You can't upgrade the volume license keys. If you restore the b121 to factory specs so that it has its legit OS on it, I'd bet your problems will go away. Back up your data first of course.
