Been plaugued by BSOD's for the last month or so, and i can't work out what's causing them, they seem to happen at completely random times and all seem to be related to my graphics card.
They are usually NVLDKM i think it is or DXGKRNL.sys and sometimes DIRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

I've tried using driver sweeper and re-installing the nvidia drivers, ran virus checks, tested my ram etc. but can't figure out what's wrong.
I've just downloaded bluescreen viewer, could someone tell me what i have to attach and how to attach it and take a look at my minidumps please?

Thanks in advance.

go to add/remove programs remove all the cards drivers and software [like msi afterburner, or some kinda add on programs] to were when you reboot all the card has to run on is the defult windows display driver [windows defult display driver wount do any heavy stuff]reboot back to desktop and check if things seem to be in order on windows default if so shut down unplug the power supply and discharge the board then remove and reseat the card hook it all back up and boot back to windows [should still be default windows driver ] install the nvidia driver that you downloaded from nvidia to a file on your desktop [not auto update or disk]

What are your system specs? and are you able to try another card to verify it's not crapping out?. Also have to checked the video cards temperature?

I'd probably even verify Windows files by doing the sfc/scannow command or chkdsk.

Allready tried the sfc/ scannow, haven't tried chkdsk though, what's that? And i don't have another card to try, but the temps are fine, 60 degrees full load.

My system is...

AMD a8 6600k
PNY GTX 560
1TB SEAGATE Barracuda 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
MSI FM2-A55M-E33 Mobo
500W Corsair builder series power supply
8gb DDR3 RAM (Not sure on make)

The BSOD seem to be at complete random, sometimes they won't happen for days on end and then other times they'll keep happening, I've had several today, and they happen when i'm gaming, when i'm watching videos, when i'm downloading or even when i'm on the desktop not doing anything.

I was looking at the reviews at newegg on this board well...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130661

also if you got more than one stick of memory run one stick in its proper ss slot and check each one one at a time to see of the issue still occurs on just one stick ... I had a board that would only run with one stick regardless of what stick or brand it was and just at bios default setting ran it for a year like that and stayed stable ... be sure you run each stick long enough to see

Don't have any more ram sticks either and i'm strapped for cash at the moment, I've tried the ram in both slots and still seems to happen, but when i tested it it came up with no errors if that helps.

Also forgot to mention, I'm using a h80i cooler and i think these blue screens only started happening after i installed it.

could be so I guess you need to monitor the cpu temps to a running log file so when it bsods you can go to the log and see the temp of the cpu right up until it shutdown I don't know what program will do that off hand gpu-z will for a vid card but I don't think cpu-z will

don't the memory have a sticker or something on the side with its info on it?? that would be kinda important to know seeing it would have the name voltage and timings on it ?? so how do you know what to set up the memory to in the bios with out all that ?? or are you just running it as is at default bios ??

Well before i uninstalled afterburner i was using the on screen display to monitor the temps and they never went higher than 70 degrees before the bluescreens
(Max is meant to be 74 for my cpu) and when it crashes on the desktop it never goes above 45, so i'm certain that it's not a temperature problem.
It's driving me crazy, I've had people telling me it could be my Mobo, GPU, CPU, Ram or software problems, it feels like i'm going to have to basicly build a new computer to find the cause lol.

Any chance you know how to read the minidumps to find out what's causing it?

EDIT: And yeah i'm running the bios as default, i'm guessing the RAM is a cheapo make as i bought a budget gaming computer from ebay (It was a new computer but cheap parts) and upgraded it as i had the money, I'll have to have a look at the RAM later on, i'm hoping it's a driver or software problem but replacing the RAM wouldn't be as bad as replacing the MOBO or GPU i guess.

70 is darn close to 74.... all the parts work hand in hand lets look at this you got a pny card using msi afterburner I guess it works but I don't think msi wrote that program for pny or whoever its for there cards ---- memory well lets just say its not looking good for you there ---

let me ask you how will it work on the on chip graphics ?? same issue or works good?

I guess its disabled when you go to use the vid card and there not conflicting with each other??

Yeah it seemed to work fine with the integrated graphics, and i was playing at around about the same temps then, I think the heat is because my case is not very large and the H80i was the best thing i could fit in it so not much i can do there, after installing my graphics card the temps were hitting the 90's so i stopped gaming until i got my H80i.

I did buy the graphics card second hand so i guess it could be that, maybe the guy was selling it because he knew of the blue screen problem. But it seemed to run fine for the first week or so, so i don't know =/
And I'm 99% Sure they're not conflicting.

Yeah I'll chalk it up for that for the time being until i can find someone to check over my dump files, touch wood it seems to be ok now, haven't had a blue screen all night, thanks for the help anyway :)
