Hello all,
I am having quite an issue here with Windows 8.1 U1: All my icons are gone and my entire Modern UI quit working. I just re-installed my graphics driver (no new one, just the same again because BF4 was acting weird) and the moment I booted up in safe mode to get rid of it with Driver Sweeper (which hasn't caused me any problems before) I got some error saying something with explorer error, can't remember the actual thing (stupid me). I got this error before I even did something (heck, I wasn't even logged-in already), I just continued and removed my drivers and then installed them again but to no avail. Everything still works (on the desktop that is) except I have no icons (when I select an item it just selects the text). And also: everything Modern UI related has ceased to work, I can't open my start menu (neither the button or the windows key seem to do anyting, the key ceased to work completely). This is really pissing me off and I don't know what I should do, I have an Image backup but that means I lose a lot of programs... something like a refresh isn't possible since I can't acces any metro stuff. Also anything that has to do with the control panel just says 'The page failed to load'
