So I am staying with my Girlfriend over summer, and I took my desktop PC. Unfortunately her router is nowhere near where I put my PC so I decided to buy a wireless network adapter.

The first one I bought was this:

But while using it I found that I got a ridiculous ping in the hundreds, and dropped over 25% of packets. Because I use my PC for gaming, I decided to try a different adapter.

So I bought this

This seems to work better. But I have more problems. The connection seems to drop using this card, maybe once every 10 seconds. It only drops for a split second. But this is enough to kick me from online games.

Is there any way to fix the problems I am having with these adapters? Or should I look at spending more on a better one?
