Connected to the network, (almost) everything works, but Windows won't identify as connected

I have a very weird problem. It started ever since they changed my cable modem, but I'm pretty sure it is not the cause, because it only happens with one computer and even with the cable modem disconnected from the router.

I have a router connected to the cable modem which provides internet access. The router provides my local network and wi-fi access. All wi-fi connections are working fine. I just connected a laptop to the router (via cable) and it identified the local connection properly (internet ok too).

But in one of the computers (the one I'm using right now), it simply won't identify the local connection. The network icon detects the connection as OK (both local and internet), but the status message shows no connection at all. In the 'Network & Sharing' section, it shows that I'm not connected to any network.

Windows doesn't recognize that this computer is a part of a local network at all. I can ping all computers normally, I can even map network drives and use the internet normally. But I can't see anything from my local network, can't share files, etc.

What network? This is exactly the problem. There is no network shown. See the image on my post? It's like Windows "thinks" it is not connected at all to any network - although it is. It is very weird. Never seen anything like this.

Been working on it for some time. I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64bits and a Ubuntu installed on it.
This problem first appeared when the cable company was in my house to change the cable modem. At first I obviously thought it had something to do with it, because he "messed with" my network configs. But after trying several failed attempts to get it back, I finally decided to reset the router and start the network configuration from scratch. Still, no results.

All devices will connect normally and see the local network but this one computer. I'm starting to think only a complete reinstall of Windows will do the trick. :(

Nothing. :(
Thanks anyway.
