Hello everyone! First time poster here...

So, im having a networking issue. Specifically: Wifi.

It is a local cable connection here in South Carolina (not Comcast) and the modem (which also acts as a router) is located in the living room.

My office/studio is upstairs on the 2nd floor.

I have a Mac Mini, fyi.

I have a full wifi signal, yet the connection speed is, well, atrocious. Its as if im back on a 28.8 dial up connection!

If i use my fathers laptop in the living room, connected via wifi, there are no speed issues.

Im curious if there is a wifi extender/booster i can attach to the modem/router so in my office/studio, i can achieve a much faster speed.

If not, what can i do/purchase in order to get away from this snail speed i get upstairs?

Thank you in advance everyone!

So, i did some testing:

1.) i took my fathers Dell laptop and put it on my desk, very close to my Mac Mini and cruised the web without issue.

2.) i turned off my bluetooth on the Mac Mini, then just tried to open websites using only my USB mouse and things seemed much faster. could be better, but ill take what i get.

So it seems the culprit is the bluetooth. This means that i need to replace my bluetooth keyboard with a USB one i suppose.

Thanks for your input! I would never have guessed the bluetooth was a major component to the connectivity issue. Thats weird...
