Hi! Should I get a 4TB internal HDD or a 2TB internal HDD and a 4TB WD MyCloud device? I use my PC for gaming mostly and need enough space for my digital steam downloads and other games. I also want to store a huge chunk of HD movies and music. What should I get? I am also building a PC for my parents from my former one, and I think that the cloud storage would be useful for sharing family photos, the films and the music. What is your oppinion on this? Thank you!

Hello. I actually just went through this myself. I have a lot of family videos and photos I wanted to share with the rest of my family. I was looking into the WD MyCloud device as well, and decided not to go with it because of bad reviews. It looked to me, like there were still quite a few bugs to work out. So I opted to go with two 2TB HDD's (I already had one in my system, I just bought another one and was given an 80GB SSD) and use the program Polkast to share my pictures and videos until Western Digital got the bugs figured out with the MyCloud device, or until another superior product comes out.

Polkast is a free program that has to be running on the computer with all the info on it. You then set what folders you want to be shared. The only downfall is that I can only share the files I want to share to mobile devices. You might be able to share info from computer to computer, but I haven't yet figured out how (although I have not tried very hard because most all my family uses their cell phones or tablets to see the pics and vids).

There is a version of polkast that you pay for that can allow the use of multiple home base computers. Just an option to consider.
