I have an external HDD that I was given to troubleshoot, but I cannot get it to be detected by anything. This is what I have tried so far:

- plugging it in via USB (wasn't detected/didn't show up in My Computer or in Device Manager or in BIOS)
- plugging it in using a different enclosure (same result)
- disconnecting the HDD and plugging it in using SATA (same result)

At what point do I throw in the towel, or are there more methods for me to try? Data recovery is not really that important, because nobody seems to know what was on this HDD in the first place.
