Today, when I try to start my pc, it begins to post, says no hard drive detected, then resets and does it all over again. Untill it says it has detected several failed boot attempts.

Specs:
Core 2 quad Q8400
Intel Dx48bt2 with the x48 chipset
Antec 500w PSU
8th Corsair XMS3
R9 290

Disconnect your PC from the power line, pen the case and make sure you are static free. Unplug both power and data cables from your main HDD (the one with OS) and plug back. Test it.

Same result, I think it must have died. It's been saying now hard disk detected for over a month and it's been fine. Bummer, time to upgrade.
