Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H Motherboard or the Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H Motherboard

$40 difference can someone say if its worth it? I'm using a r9 290 wind force 4gb graphics and i5-4670 cpu? also is the gigabyte r9 290 wind force OC 4gb graphics card good?

thanks

My suggestion is wait just a bit longer as the new z97 chipset is out and gigbyte is bringing in some new additions to their ultra durable line. also the r9 290 is a beast of a card especially the windforce. Another thing you should do is get an k-series cpu that way you can overlock on the Z97 or Z87 chipset mobos.

I'd stick with Z87, the difference between z87 and z97 is very very small and the only advantage I can see Z97 has is that its more future proof if you plan on going down the haswell line otherwise stick with Z87.

Your Gigabyte motherboard choice(z87) is fine however I'd prefer either MSI, ASUS or AsRock

and gigabyte don't have their fair share of problems? All motherboard manufactures have their fair share problems. yes gigabyte is fairly trusted but not their RMA service I believe, MSI on the otherhand has improved alot on their RMA service and I have yet to have a problem with my Asrock motherboard

I vote for ASUS' ROG line. It is the best in the class. ASUS' QC is amazing and their boards perform great while OCing. Also added bonus is the built-in sound chip, that thing alone is better than most other sound cards in the market. Be wary though, ROG boards are quite pricey.

ROG line? no it's just expensive with unnecessary goodies. there are motherboards that can OC just as-well at a cheaper price they just have less features

They're coming out with a new much more affordable motherboard, the ROG Ranger. From what I have heard its a great board. I carries ASUS' reliability and ROG functions for a lot cheaper. It carries the ROG SupremeFX chip which has amazing sound quality. Trust me, when it comes to reliability ASUS ROG is top notch. The new board is about as much as the MSI Z97-Gaming 7. However, the board has not been released yet. So if you want to get a new one now, I would get the MSI MPower Z97 Motherbaord. Its about $10 more than the gigabyte Z97 UD5H. I would say that the MPower series has a lot better reliability than Gigabyte's. You may disagree with me but that's just my opinion. Of all the boards I've used, the MPower series is definitely my favorite
