computer ground question

My computer is currently plugged into a 2 prong wall outlet in my home. I use my microphone daily and people tell me that my mic makes an annoying static sound. I have disabled background noise in the recording devices and other software settings. I've tried the mic on another computer and it has no static so I know my PC ground has to do with it. The static also comes from my speakers. Is there a way I can ground my wall socket so iI can get rid of the annoying static noise?

Solution

Turn the circuit breaker OFF, and then remove the outlet faceplate (usually held together by one screw). You can look inside and determine what you have.

Where can I find this information? How do I know what type of wire I have?
