graphic card running x8

gpu z say my graphic card is running x8 cant seems to know why, maybe one of you expert can tell me. i tried resitting the card, gpu z render test, flash the motherboard bios and still x8, i am now run out of ideas. the card is a msi 6950 flash to a 6970 and is sited i the top pcie closes to the cpu. will this affect my performance in games?. my motherboard asrock m3a785gxh128m.

After reading on the ASRock official website it says that the 16x lane is the green lane. All you have to do is resit the card on the green lane (wherever it may be) and it will be running on PCIe 3.0 at x16.

i know it is in the green slot and i have resit it so many time even tried to dust out the slot with a brush and still x8

Nope it will barely affect it. At most your game will drop by one fps. Running on 16x and 8x really has no affect at all.
