From the price I'm guessing you're not in the States, but I'd also look to Asus or the Rock, in either Asus or the Rock, might see if the Asus Z87-A or Z97-A is available - and yes the Z97 will work with Haswell or Haswell Refresh CPUs, will also be an upgrade path for Broadwell when it comes out

Yes, I've heard quite a few stories of MSI boards failing, and all I know about Gigabyte is that they make top-notch video cards.

And yes, the i5-4670K will run on the Z97 board. The only significant difference is that Z97 boards will also support Broadwell as well as Haswell, making them much more futureproof.
