Is it worth upgrading from what I already have?

If you feel like moving up to 1440p, or just aren't getting a perfectly smooth experience, and have determined the cause is not processor related, then maybe the GTX 780 Ti would be worth it.
Personally, I don't see how Maxwell is going to replace the powerhouse that is the GTX 780 Ti, at least not from a value standpoint and certainly not in the near future. So waiting is up to you, but I wouldn't.

no it is not, wait for the GTX 800 series, which may be a while and is not conformed. The 7970 is still a strong GPU in todays standards.

1440p would be nice to upgrade to that's for sure, but I am still having no problems as of yet with gaming.
I can still have everything on Ultra settings with no problems, I may be better off upgrading my processor first. It's an Intel I7-3.4k, but I guess if I'm having no problems, it would just be the matter of jumping to 1440p or not.
