I am looking for a good mouse and keyboard for everyday use, as well as some gaming. Most of my gaming as of late has been FPS games, but MMOs are a possibility as well. I would like to have at least the forward/back buttons on the mouse as well as I use those daily (programmer) in several programs when not gaming. I am also interested in a mechanical keyboard (my first), but am not sure if i'm willing to drop over $100 for one.

For reference i currently have a Saitek Eclipse II keyboard, and a few 5/7 button Microsoft mice (wireless laser 5000 currently in use).

My pc tower currently has a Blue LED theme, so I'd like my peripherals to be able to match the case colors too if I can afford it.

I am currently considering the following mice

Keyboards, I am open to suggestions here. I prefer all the keys, backlighting (blue) if possible, but not required. I'd like to stay under $100 if possible.
  • Gigabyte Aivia Osmium - $120 - more than i want to spend, but has a lot of nice features...
    Corsair Vengeance K60 or K70 - $129
CM Storm Quickfire Ultimate (blue) - $109

I've also considered the CM Storm mouse/keyboard combo for $30. Both items seem comparable to what I have now, and a LOT cheaper than dropping $200... Is it really worth the extra cash for the items above?

I went to microcenter to pick up a k70 and a m65, unfortunately they only had the Raptor line (k30,k40,k50) of keyboards, and none of those were to my liking. I really loved the basic Blackwidow keyboard for its well defined key feedback (loud). However, I decided backlighting was quite important to me since I usually have no lights while on the PC. So I had to spend more to get a backlit mechanical keyboard, so I picked up the Gigabyte Avia Osmium keyboard with Cherry Red keys.

I also tried the m65, and the mouse was smaller than I was anticipating. It would of forced me into a claw grip over a palm grip due to the size of my hands, so I decided against it. I then tried the steel series raw, but the symmetrical design did not feel ergonomic enough for my tastes.
The razer mice were pretty nice, but they were expensive and had green lighting which would not go well with my blue tower. So I ended up with a [link url="http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4136&dl=1&RWD=0#ov"]Gigabyte M6980X mouse[/link].

Now my peripherals match each other as well as my case.

Currently using G710+ (good for either MMO or FPS) and Death Adder 2013 (mostly FPS). terry is right about the NAGA; I was able to test one out yesterday, and it's pretty much an MMO dream mouse. You probably won't even use all the button on it (there are 12 for your thumb btw). The Death Adder is extremely comfortable and is the most comfortable mouse I've used thus far; I use a fingertip grip.
