Recovery Disk Question

First off, I want to apologize if I am in the wrong category for my question.

As for my question, I was wondering if you can still make Recovery Disks even if you uninstalled and installed a program or two. I just got a new laptop and uninstalled some free trial antivirus and also installed a program for a portable DVD drive. I understand you are supposed to make recovery disks right away, but I didn't know if removing pre-installed software would affect anything. This might be a stupid question I'm asking,
I'm sorry, but I would just like to know an answer.

Good idea to create a Recovery drive, especially if you upgrade to 8.1 as there have been reports of problems with the Recovery Partition after the Upgrade. Ideally use a USB pendrive as they are faster and more reliable than creating multi DVDs. Use Disk Manager to determine the size of your Recovery Partition and purchase a USB pendrive accordingly. (8 Gb usually suffice). Simply type 'Create' at your Start Screen. Choose Create Recovery Drive from Settings and check the box for Copy Recovery Partition. If you have 8.1 pre-installed Create Recovery Drive will appear on a list without having to go to Settings. Recovery restores the machine to Factory Settings, so you'll have to uninstall the unwanted software again...
