wrong, it takes about $850 to get something really decent.

If I were you I'd go with the i5 X550LN, paying an extra $200 just isn't worth an i7 and 4 more GBs of ram. Replacing the ram's not so costly and is an easy DIY task, just take off the pre-loaded ram (green rectangular sticks with 8 black squares) and insert the new ones into the ports and push them down.
 


840M that'll be great for gaming /sarcasm

well some people just need the portability. Not everyone's life style fits into just sitting in one place - some people actually have to move.
 


it'll be rubbish for gaming, and that's what he wants it for... so how is this good advice?

it's rubbish for high end gaming - of which this pc lot have gotten used to as a standard, when not everyone can afford / the situation allows for high end capabilities.
