Hi my computer cant start up.

Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.

This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or CD-ROM drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer.

If you continue to receive this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer.

File: \Boot\BCD

Status: Oxc00000e9

Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurred.

I checked all Devices internal and external are plugged in securely. It is as it was when I shut it down.

Can not boot into BIOS with F2 or Delete

Can no enter safe mode with F8 + SHIFT

Asus screen

screen with:Marvell RAID listing the drives

Asus screen again

The screen above, Windows has encountered a problem.....

I disconnected the SSD with the OS on, the first in the boot order and it then would see and boot from a Windows DVD. So good so far, got to the choose a language screen and went into the recovery section. I wanted to shut the PC down properly so I hit shutdown and got a flash of a BSOD with the unhappy sideways face!? It reset it's self and rebooted from the DVD, the next thing I saw was the Blue window of the DVD booting up again then a blues screen saying:

RECOVERY
There was a problem with a device connected to your PC
an unexpected 1/0 error has occurred
error code Oxc00000e9

This problem can happen when a removable storage device is removed while it's in use or failing. Properly connect any removable storage and restating your PC may fix this problem.

I held down the power button to shut down then I reconnected the SSD. I tried starting up and this time it found the DVD and booted from the DVD. I tried going into recovery, past the chose a language screen and again BSOD with the side ways unhappy face flashed up and then it reboots it's self. The next thing is the blue windows logo again. Then again the BSOD then it reboots it's self and into windows, then the language menu, I chose the language and then a navy blue screen and nothing, frozen. Held power button to shut down.

Rebooted PC got the Over clock has failed screen, the over clock is a mild CPU overclock and the RAM with XMP profile. It is all completely stable and thoroughly tested before.

Went into BIOS and removed Overclock and now I'm back to the first situation, booting and rebooting it's self. starting up and then the "Windows has encountered a problem communicating" screen then rebooting it's self back to the same screen over and over until I hold down the power button and shut it down.

I created a bootable Windows USB from the DVD on my Mac and tested it on the mac and it booted into windows installation fine. I plugged the USB into the PC. I went into the BIOS and found the USB but its called a generic storage device and before it would name the brand and what was on it. I tried booting from the USB but just get the same result of the:
Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer...........

I got the "American Megatrends This Over clock has failed" screen again with no overclock.
this is something that has happened before. I was having shutdowns for no apparent reason during idle or low activity states, never during load. It has never crashed or shut down during Prime 95 or Cinibench or any of the other benchmarking programs only when idle or doing light work. I have had HWmonitor up on screen for weeks and the temperatures have risen above 70c.

I never found the source of the problem and in the end when I changed the way the GPU was plugged in to the PSU and changed the PCI slot the problem seemed to vanish though it was intermittent so there is no way to know for sure if it was gone before this total failure.

i7 4930K
Asus P9X79 WS
Corsair AX860i
Corsair H100i
Crucial 240GB SSD for OS and Programs
2 x 3TB HDD in RAID0 on the onboard Marvell controller for the media drive
1 x 4TB HDD a mirror back up of Media on the RAID and backup of system image and such
32GB of Kingston HyperX Beast RAM 2400MHz
Pailt GTX780 super Jetstream.

Everything is new and I built it myself thinking it would be cheaper and more upgradable than a new Mac but I have never had it running stable enough to be able to start working again. I could send parts back if I knew what part was damaged but I don't know and cant find a way to find out. I have spent the last 6 weeks on forums and learning about PC's online but I've come to the end of my ideas and options. This has me in a really bad situation, Dose anyone have any idea what I should do next?
