Help! My pc is lagging badly when I try to play COD Ghosts, no matter the level of details I choose. I run a i7 4770K @4.3 Gh, 16 Go of ram @1,866, 2xAMD HD 7990 Crossfire, SSD, etc. Game was freshly installed. Every other game works flawlessly (i.e. BF 4 runs smoothly @1080p in ultra-settings). Another weird thing is that the game uses all 12GO of video memory (as per GPU Z info).

All suggestions are highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Solution
Considering each 7990 is like 2 7970s in crossfire, and you're crossfiring HD 7990s, I'd say it's highly likely that you have a crossfire problem.
Also, you have 3GB of VRAM, not 12GB. Your build is basically 4 3GB 7970s in crossfire, and the VRAM does not add together. It cancels out. You have effectively 3GB of VRAM. At 1080p it still shouldn't be full though.

So it's probably a crossfire problem, or a heat problem. Which I guess is also sort of a crossfire problem.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer. However, the same issue was present with one 7990. I just added the 2nd yesterday. There is not heat problem, temps with COD do not go over 70 C. My pc case is well ventilated and offers very good air flow. I just thought that maybe COD is just not that well optimized and perhaps some tweaking with the setting could have helped. And again, BF 4 runs perfectly...

Thanks again anyway.

One 7990 is still crossfire between 7970s. Could still be a crossfire problem.

But first, what's your power supply? The power draw on 2 7990s is incredible.

Hi again,

I have a Super Flower Golden King certified Platinum 1,000W PSU. No other 3D game/application poses any issues.

Thanks.
