Hello All,

I have a little Toshiba Notebook with Windows 7 starter. I would like to turn this computer into XP, (the reason being I have some Design software that will ONLY work in 32bit). My question is two fold;

1) How do I format the comp.

2) How do I instal my Windows XP with Flash drive (since it does not have a disk drive).

Solution

Try right clicking on the program, go to properties, then compatibility, then choose run this program in compatibility mode for windows XP SP3.
Windows 7 64-bit is capable of running 32-bit applications - I've yet to come across a 32-bit application that won't run on 64-bit Windows.

In any event, before you change the operating system you must first check that Toshiba has compatible drivers for your notebook model on it's website.

The program in question is AutoCAD2000. Yes, I know its old, but it is the program I know and want to continue using it. It will not run on Windows 7. Is there another way I could run it through my Windows 7 Home Premium desktop?
