4Gb installed, only 3Gb useable

Win 7 32-bit

I've got a laptop with 4Gb RAM installed, but in start/computer/properties it's reporting that only 3Gb of that is useable.

Is this due to having a 32-bit OS, rather than 64-bit? Or is there a setting somewhere I can change?

Hi there,
In your BIOS there should be a graphics option called "Shared memory" as this will use some of the RAM for the GPU.
Set the value to a minimum but keep some graphics memory.
