I want to build a PC after switching from a console so I am kind of new at it. I have a 720p monitor and want to play games like watch dogs and arkham Knight on high settings but keep the build as cheap as possible ($600).

Solution
Do you need the mouse and the keyboard? What about the OS?

If not, this is my recommendation:

This rig will only get to high at 720p so you might want to upgrade to an i5 and a better GPU if you want to move to 1080p at the same setting

Solution

Yes, technically it will, but you'll need a CPU cooler for that. I (and most of the forum) would recommend the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. You might also need a more expensive motherboard.

The FX-6300 is already faster in the few games that can actually utilize all of its 6 cores, but neither of the CPUs will hold back your system in current games, even at stock clocks. The reason I would get the AMD one is the speculation that games will use more cores in the future (based on the 8-core CPUs in the new consoles), making the FX-6300 more 'future proof'.

Also, Watch Dogs is probably going to be able to use at least 8 cores, so the FX 6300 would be more suitable for that.
