Possible Faulty Wireless Card?

Hey guys.

This is a brand new build with a TP Link wireless PCI express card installed. The first day it worked fine. The next day I experienced some slower speeds, but nothing terrible. Today, however, it seems that I'm unable to load webpages ~90% of the time. It's completely unpredictable, but I do see bursts of good speed occasionally. A few notes on the situation:

  • * The modem is a Comcast standard router/modem (made by Arris interactive)
    * Both the modem and the PC have been reset/rebooted
    * I've manually changed the channel in the router settings to a channel that isn't as heavily tafficked compared to other routers in my building (channel 11)
    * All drivers are current

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Haven't tried channel 9. I was advised to use channels 1, 6, and 11. All three of those yield the same results. As far as speed tests go, when the page actually loads, I'm seeing ~19Mbps down, ~8 up. This isn't drastically lower than my wired connection which is 29 down, 8 up. I don't think the ISP is throttling because I'm nowhere near the broadband limit for Comcast, and my other wireless connections are fine.

Discovered that for whatever reason the PC was assigning a different SSID to the network. So while it was listed as having the correct SSID, the network name was "Network Profile." I've deleted that network and reconnected to my network and it seems to be working fine. The quirks of building a new PC, I guess.
