How can i erase windows off HDD so i can use it in windows 8.

Im building a new computer with windows 8 i plan to install windows 8 on my new SSD i just bought my question is how can I delete windows 7 and everything else from my old HDD so i can use it as extra storage on my new PC to go along with my new SSD. The HDD is a WD 7200rpm Cavier Blue 500gb.

Hello... if you delete all the partitions, it is all that is needed... you can use any Windows install disk to do this.

Install Win8 and then boot into win8, then delete the windows folder on the harddrive

before removing your hdd, boot into windows 8 setup, then in the window asking on which partition windows should install, you can remove the windows 7 partition. Then cancel the setup. then install the new ssd in your laptop and install windows.
