Hi,

I'm having trouble installing Windows 8.1 64-bit on my mobo. On the ASUS website, there's no SATA/AHCI drivers for Win 8.1. There is a link for Win 7. Should I use those?

MOBO: M5A88-V EVO

The problem is that I can't seem to install Win 8.1 in AHCI mode on my SSD. Whenever I look in the BIOS, it shows the drive with IDE - in the front.

Thanks...

Where is the Win 8 driver? I don't see it at all on the ASUS website.

Btw, this was the worse help ever. The chipset drivers were most certainly not included in Win8.

I eventually found the chipset drivers here.

if you look carefully those are the raid one and the last one they had was the acpi driver on win 8 on asus support .

Just to clarify, do you have AHCI enabled in the BIOS and is your SSD plugged into one of the first four SATA ports?

"SATA Port1 - Port4 [IDE]
Allows you to set the SATA configuration

Set to [IDE] when you want to use the Serial ATA hard disk drives as
Parallel ATA physical storage devices.

Set to [RAID] when you want to create a RAID configuration from the SATA
hard disk drives.

Set to [AHCI] when you want the SATA hard disk drives to use the AHCI
(Advanced Host Controller Interface). The AHCI allows the onboard
storage driver to enable advanced Serial ATA features that increases
storage performance on random workloads by allowing the drive to
internally optimize the order of commands.

SATA Port5 - Port6 [IDE]
Setting this item to [IDE] instead of [RAID] or [AHCI] allows the system to recognize the
optical dirves connected to the SATA connectors 5 or 6 when installing OS."

Seriously, dude. The last response from the OP was five months ago. You really think he or she will still be reading this thread after five months?
