Need some help with this build. I don't have a budget but don't want to spend a ton of money for something that I don't need. Most of the parts are chosen with aesthetics in mind.

Solution
R9 290X is better than a R9 290. If you see Rx 2**X, that is better than the same number of Rx 2**. (e.g. R9 270X is better than a R9 270)

GTX 780 outperforms both R9 290 and 290X.

I really like your build, all the parts are correctly chosen and your CPU and GPU choice are superb.
What I don't like though is that you're overpaying for that motherboard, but in terms of aesthetics it's a great choice of board.

You've gone with quality RAM, SSD, case and more importantly, a great Power Supply.

Happy building man!

LOL for 1.5k bucks, that's super bad.

Thanks Man. I shouldn't take credit for the build since a user of the forums recommended it. I just wanted to get other opinions before I spent the money on it. A question I do have is are there any extra special parts that I have to buy when ordering. Such as extra cables or something. I am planning on buying some LED lights, probably red. Should I get a fan control too?? I am new to building comps so any tips on ordering will be great.

I am not sure but would rather leave the possibility open for it.

With CPU option I am leaving the possibility for me to upgrade to Devil's Canyon. I am sure an i5 will be fine for me at the time. No point IMO in spending the extra $100 for something that can be replaced in a few months.

okay. But you're still overspending on the motherboard. If it was an X79, that's a different story, as they're all $200-300. I went with a MSI Z97-G55 SLI, which would be best out of MSI Gxx. That's some 80 bucks cheaper.

And GPU could be a R9 290X or GTX 780.

Is the 290x Better? I don't know too much about the GPU. I should say is how much better for the money

Im also looking for aesthetics in the rig. I could probably switch to that Motherboard and change the RAM to blue??(Red on black looks fantastic. Not sure about blue) That would save some money. Is the MSI mobo and ASUS comparable? If one is better I think its worth the extra bit

Asus doesn't support DDR3 3300 MHz, and has 1 less PCI-e Express 3.0 x16, 2 less PCI-e Express 2.0 x16, and 1 more PCI-e 2.0 slot.

MSI supports 1 less SLI card, and 1 less Crossfire card. Not that you would use 4 way SLI or Crossfire. It also has 2 less USB3 but 2 more USB2.

OK ill have to look what I will be putting in it. Besides what is there I think it is just a wireless networking card. So I feel either board could be good. What all uses USB3 nowadays?
