I currently own an Asus PB278Q running at a resolution of 2560x1440. I am planning on selling this and getting two 1920x1080 monitors that are more geared towards gaming (lower response time, higher refresh rate).

The monitor I am looking at right now is the ASUS VG248QE because of it's 1ms response time and 144hz refresh rate. If I buy two of these monitors, will the 144hz work on both of them at the same time? I will only be using one of them for gaming and one of them for browsing the web while I'm gaming. Will there be any problem with this setup?

It is probably wrong to base a decision on an advertised 1ms(gtg) response time. There is no standard on how to measure that.

What you might want to look to is a g.sync capable monitor. That will allow you to refresh at the rate your graphics card is capable of. If your graphics card can't reach the refresh rate of your monitor, you will get some amount of artifacts. v.sync helps, but has other issues.

And... I might keep the 2560 x 1600 monitor as the side monitor. It will not add any load to your graphics card since the display will be mostly static and will not affect gaming.

I chose this monitor because of the reviews when it comes to gaming, not necessarily for the specs alone. It appears Xbox and PC gamers alike think it's great for FPS games.

I was considering just keeping this monitor, but it wouldn't really be applicable for a few reasons. Mainly because I have limited space and can fit two 24" monitors, but not a 24" and a 27". I also can't stand looking at two different monitors side by side. It's just something that drives me crazy personally, no real reason.
