Hello, I have a question regarding the power of the ''evga geforce gtx 750 ti superclocked'' version . I am doing a budget gaming build, and wondering if the Pentium g3420 might be a little too weak for the GPU, in games like Battlefield 3 and 4?

Thanks - Martin

Solution
When you have a budget, you can't get everything.
What you hope for is a balance. Dual core intel cpu chips are surprisingly strong gamers. That is because most games can't make use of multiple cores.
Here is an older report that uses the G860 as a base:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-processor-frame-rate-performance,3427-9.html
The G series is a dual core without hyperthreading. The G3420 is about 25% faster.
The report was done using a GTX680 to remove graphics from the equation.
In actuality, a slower graphics card will often become the limiting factor.

On a budget, you do what you need to to get started.
My advice is to use a modern motherboard based on a Z97 or H97 chipset, and a overprovisioned 600w quality psu...

Any 150$ graphics card won't give you much performance and would have to play bt4 on low settings. The Pentium g3420 is weak, but would not bottleneck any 150$ gpu

They are about equally going to suck at BF4 in 1080p. You should have researched your GPU better.

Given your budget for cpu and gpu, that is a reasonably balanced distribution between cpu and gpu.

If your game is bf3/4 single player, favor the graphics card. If it is multiplayer, favor the cpu.

Wait a week for the devils canyon Pentium K anniversary edition. AKA G3258 priced about $80.
Who knows how high that sucker will overclock.

I dit not realize that it would perform that bad, so will a i3 4130 would be increase the performance match?:)

Its mostly a lack of graphics card lacking power, not cpu power. Of course if you get a better graphics card you'd need a better cpu to avoid bottlenecking

Oh i thought you meant that the cpu would bottleneck the Gpu. With all due respect, the Gpu manage a 45+ FPS at ultra settings, acording to reviews and videos on youtube. But i Am not sure the cpu Will keep up man :/

Yeah Tom's used 2xAA where TPU used 4xAA, that's why Tom's had more FPS.

You can reduce quality settings, obviously.

Here 4:12 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sK6vHNkexic
He got FPS as 35 fps for the 'standard ti' and 40fps for the Ftw which is clocked very closely to the supercloked version.

Here is also a simmiler results;http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/nvidia_geforce_gtx_750_and_750_ti_review,14.html

so to be with that 2*AA it seems to be playable :) remember that i am on a budget. Does anyone here own a GTX 750TI, to tell about the actual experince :)

If you find that performance reasonable and it is in your budget, then logically you should purchase it.

The i3-4130 would be better, if you can afford it. Mostly banking on the hope that games start to use hyperthreading when they start using more cores. But also for the slightly higher core-per-core performance.

The GTX 750 TI overclocks well, so you could expect a nice fps bonus from the EVGA SC edition.

You should be at probably high settings around 45 fps in graphically intensive games, or ultra settings around 30 fps in graphically intensive games on a GTX 750 TI SC, assuming your CPU doesn't limit you. Most AA will be too large of a framerate hit to be worthwhile in new games on a GTX 750 TI, so I suggest you stick mostly to Post AA, MLAA, SMAA, FXAA, etc. I'm not sure about BF4 in particular...
