Acer Aspire M3400 X6... 3 pin system fan socket?

Hi,

I've just upgraded my M3400 X6, with a new graphics card and PSU.

I decided to add an extra fan on the side panel, not so much out of necessity than simply thinking a bit of extra airflow can't hurt with the new upgrades.

Now... I've ended up connecting the fan via the molex connection it had on it, because I'm damned if I can find a 3 pin system fan connection on the board???

Am I just not looking hard enough, or does anyone else have one of these PC's (or know about the particular motherboard), and can confirm whether there is in fact an additional 3 pin connection on the board somewhere?

The fan is running fine off the molex connection, but obviously... it's running constantly, whether the PC needs the extre airflow or not.

Any help appreciated.

Del.

Thanks, I'll have a look for that in the morning.

When you're saying there's only one... do you mean in addition to the CPU fan connector, or... that's it... the CPU fan connector is the only one?

OK... will check again in the morning. I also saw what looked like a 3 pin connector in that spot in the manual, but... couldn't see it on the actual board.

Maybe I'm just not looking closely enough... it's been a long week.

Will let you know if I find it.

Thanks.

Didn't get round to having another look inside this PC until today, and... immediately had one of those face-palm moments... of course I couldn't see a spare 3 pin socket on the board... because the rear fan was already plugged into it. Doh!

So... ordered a cable adapter so I can daisy chain the extra fan.

Thanks for the help, mate.
