Hi. I'm new so I didn't know where to post this thread but a friend of mine recently down-graded (Upgrade imo) to Windows 7 and when he tries to connect via the Ethernet Cable nothing pops up and nothing Happens, also I think he just unplugged something important because our skype call just crashed xD (He was on a different pc)

No, He just installed Windows 7 and he's trying to connect via Ethernet so he can dl the drivers for Wi-Fi, I didn't know you needed a driver to use internet via ethernet, If You don't have ethernet drivers how are you suppose to download drivers?

I can easily do this for him but I don't know what drivers I need to get for him, or where to get them?

Find out the make/model of the motherboard. Go to that manufacturer website and download it do a USB stick.

I went to the Gateway website and selected his model and it has it for Windows 7 and Windows 8, his laptop originally had windows 8 but he just installed Windows 7, should I download the drivers for 7 or 8?
