Hello I'm using a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 mobo that has been working fine for months. All of a sudden audio doesn't work (red X on the speaker icon). My speakers work fine and I've uninstalled and reinstalled audio drivers from Realtek website and Gigabyte website as well, to no avail. When I open Device Manager I see two High Definition Audio Controller's (one is fine and the other has a yellow exclamation mark) and one of my four Standard OpenHCD USB to Host Controller also has a yellow exclamation mark and both say "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)." I made a partition in my hard drive to reinstall Windows 7 and that fixed the audio but I would really like an answer that didn't involve reinstalling. If no answers could help then I guess I would go buy a sound card or if all else fails...reinstall xP Thank you for reading this very long thread!

You don't use the drivers from the Realtek website, you use the drivers from your motherboard manufacturer's website only, and the Chipset driver should always be the first one you install. So try installing the Chipset Driver, followed by the sound driver and any other drivers that you require.
