I'm having a very strange issue with my I7 3770k all of a sudden after having a stable system for over a year. While the computer idles on my Win 8 desktop every few minutes or so CPU temps will rise from 28c idle to 45-58c for a few seconds while cpu fans sound like they are spinning harder, then immediately drop back down. It does this every 5-10 minutes while doing absolutely nothing on the desktop except having Hwinfo running to monitor temps. I decided to try a few things and trouble shoot including re-applying thermal paste and disabling hyper threading in my bios and discovered that it stops doing this when I have hyper threading disabled. Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated! System specs are below.
