I'm breadboarding a build right now trying to get it working, but I'm getting post errors. I've tried all the suggestions in the related checklists on this site multiple times, and am certain all connections are correct. It's a bit beyond that at this point.

It's an Asus motherboard, and the error code I get with CPU, heatsink/fan, memory and VGA installed is "hardware component failure", according to the manual. IF I pull the memory out, I get the "no memory detected" error. This is regardless of whether the VGA is installed or not, "hardware component error" with memory installed, "no memory detected" error if I pull the memory out. Nothing appears on the monitor, no splash/error screen. But the CPU fan spins up and the power LED light comes on green.

I've tried installing the memory in every conceivable permutation, including just one stick in all of the slots. Same error each time, "hardware component failure".

It seems like this is suggesting that the memory is the issue? Since the BIOS seems to be looking for the memory until it's installed, and then throwing an error. But I'm no hardware guy, really.

Also, one kind of strange thing...The memory sticks I'm using are DDR3-1066MHz. One page of the manual claims to support this frequency, but the QVL section for memory doesn't include a table for 1066 MHz at all, so I'm wondering if this is the problem.

My components are as follows...
-Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 motherboard
-AMD FX 6300 cpu
-GSkill DDR3 1066MHz memory, 1.5V, PC38500
-Antec HCG-620M psu, ATX 12V, 620 W
-MSI Nvidia GeForce 210, 512 MB DDR2, PCI-E 2.0
