So this is the situation:

I own a CDMA phone (band 800) and the providers are dropping the support for it (in Canada). I upgraded once to a SIM back when 2G and 3G first came out but we didn't have the service where I live. Just last year we got 4G (not LTE but still: yay) so I'm looking to finally purchase a SIMphone.

I currently piggyback off my parents wireless network. I cap at 3 mbps download and .68 mbps upload which is normal for this country area. However, I live in a Truck Camper and need a more mobile internet.

With a Mobile Internet Stick I can access internet through the desktop and laptops but I seem hooped for my consoles. I want something with the most band availability so Mifi or Cell Routers are out. The phone I'm looking at can turn into a Hotspot so could I hook up the Internet Stick to the phone using a USB to Mini USB adapter then turn it into a Hotspot to access wireless internet?

I know there are ways to install linux and such into the new phones so if it doesn't work with the original OS could I temporarily turn it into a mini touch computer and run the Internet Stick Application?

The data cap for a Mobile Internet Stick is 15GB plus $10 for every extra GB for $105/ month

The data cap for a Data plan is 1GB plus $.05 for every extra MB (around $52 per extra GB) for $35/ month.

The stick is, quite simply, the cheapest and better option.

Can you post some examples? I'm trying to find one and can't. Maybe pull up some Newegg or NCIX links so I can get an idea of what I'm looking and googling for.

Bell is the one with the best prices. They're sister networks with Telus so all the Telus bands are also Bell bands. Plus, it means they have the most coverage.

Oh, I thought you meant a USB stick that could be used for wifi. Unfortunately, the NETGEAR Hub doesn't have as many bands as the stick. As I live in a camper and travel across Canada I require something that is portable and doesn't use too much power.
