There are multiple R9 280Xs that are for sale right now in my country which are $50 cheaper than their original price, I am wondering if it's worth it to buy a used graphics card and if it is, what are the things that I should look for?

Please and Thank You!

I've got 2 secondhand cards in my pc - and OK so far.

Its a risk you take.

Pick a good brand to start with - Sapphire for 280x. Check the warranty return statement if on eBay. Email the seller to verify that here is nothing wrong with what he's selling. Check the going price.

I've bought used graphics cards previously and never had any trouble - I would recommend it as a good way of saving cash if u can find a card that will suit your needs.

Other components I would b more careful with second hand, but a GPU is about as safe as 2nd hand componentry can be.

Try and buy from somewhere that will give u at least some warranty, as if there are problems with your purchase u'll likely find out pretty quickly

Yes, but check how much warranty is left, how they were used (you don't want 12 months old bit-coin mining cards that have been running 24/7) and if they perform good using a benchmark test.
