Watch dogs fps drops on gtx 690

So I started playing Watch dogs yesterday and I noticed that the fps is really bad. When I'm in a high speed chase my fps just goes down to 10-15 for a few secounds then it jumps back to normal. I'm running max settings with textures set to high and SMAA. My cpu is not bottlenecking I checked.
PC specs:
I7 2600 OC to 4.3ghz
8gb ram
EVGA gtx 690
Asus p8p67 pro Motherboard
CM silent pro hybrid 1300W PSU

do you want to do the sums....

lets say that the 1300W unit is 80% efficient and your 750W is 90% efficient at a 600W load point (assuming total system usage is 600W) Assuming it is being used for 6 hrs per day at full load and power is 10c/unit.

the 1300W unit will use 600*6*365*0.1/0.8/1000 dollars per year = $164 in electric costs
the 750W units will use 600*6*365*0.1/0.9/1000 doallars per year = $146 in electric costs.

So for $18 /year is it worth it? especially as the 750 will be working closer to it's limit, it therefore won't last as long.

Disable motion blur and lower textures (in display settings, not graphical) to high. These alone smooth out the gameplay immensely and get rid of that game-breaking stutter while driving quickly, even with everything else on high-ultra

I tried that + adding the parameter -disablepagefilecheck and the game doesn't stutter so much now (but it still does once in a while). Still when I start driving mi fps goes in the 50's and when I stop it jups over 60. Bad SLI profile i suppose.

Yes I always try the cracked vesion first to see how the game runs so I don't go trugh the AC3 nightmare again. Bitcoin mining i not a very good idea on a nvidia card and I don't do it.

Bitcoin miners start using 100% of your gup if you don't use your pc for 1-5 minutes ( I know I had them before). I will wait for the game to get patched and star running properly. From what I see even the uplay version runs bad so I'm going to wait. Games like AC3 never got patched and I payed the full price for that game and I'm sorry I did.

Dude i have the same problem. I have gtx 680sli and and fx8350 overclocked to 4.5ghz. Its impossible to drive the car massive spikes. Game so poorly optimized. Wait for new patches because i cant play either. I don't have lags when i walk in game but its impossible to drive a car^^

(First post on this website for me. You should feel special!)

I believe it's because of the poor optimization. When driving a car the game has to render out the environment and being a kinda bad PC port it struggles to do so at a good speed. So When i drive really fast it tends to have to load my surroundings which is what I believe is the problem.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
I don't get this issue when I turn the shadows down from Ultra to High. So it could be that but I believe the pop-ins is also a part of the problem. Game is choking up trying to render heaps of stuff at a fast rate. But if you are not TOO much of a graphics person it may not hurt to turn down shadows. Another thing that fixed it for me was the anti-aliasing. I turned that down enough that I was still getting good quality and performance.

I have a 770 and this game runs at about 50-60 fps on average. I get the same issue as you; framerate dropping to about 15-20 fps when driving fast or even just looking in a general direction with lots of objects. It is rather annoying that this happens and I hope they release an update fixing it.

Oh well I give up on this game. It doesnt look half as good as a game like crysis 3 and it is just as demanding and it has tons of bugs and bad optimisation. Anyway I bought AC4 and that game is much better than watch dogs and runs at 60 fps locked. I may return to watch dogs when ubisoft fix their game (which maybe never as was the case with AC3).
