nope...it wont....everything that you have is awesome except the gpu, its around 4 year old, i think, but 1 thing is sure, it super old and as per watch dogs, you need at least gtx 780 for 1080p 60fps at ultra...

Okay, so you are sure its only the GPU that is a bottleneck here?

I am looking on a "MSI GeForce GTX 780 3GB OC TwinFrozr Gaming-series"

If you look it up, will that be enough then?

yup it will be, but id say that get an r9 290x its few dollars more or better option would be to wait few more months and get the flagship gpu from nvidia's 800 series lineup, which will be introduced by the holiday season( probably)

Watchdogs is optimized for NVidia so in my opinion the gtx 780 will probably give you a better experience than the 290x.

I suggest you get the 780 ti and that might not even give you a solid 60 fps if max out the game with all the AA.

The game developer recommends a I7, I pre-ordered the game and will let you know how it plays on my system.
I have a 3570k and a 780 ti,

I upgraded from a 780 and I find that the 780 ti is significantly faster than the 780.
The reason for my upgraded is because I'm using a 1440 screen.

The 800 series will take more then a few months in my opinion.

Holiday season or 1st or 2nd quarter next year is more than a few months away.

dude even though the game is said to be better at nvidia but you can't ignore the fact that 4gb and 512bit interface will be better for higher res displays...the 800 series will have better performance and its possible that they might have a 780ti rebadge for only $300, i mean gtx 680 was expensive but gtx 770 was only $300

I think the 780 ti will provide significantly smoother gameplay in watch dogs, I Don't want to get into the spec debate right now...

There is no way that the the fully enabled kepler will be a $300 rebadge lol

I doubt the regular 780 will ever go down to $300

they did this with gtx 770..as far as 780ti goes, then it really is the best but acx 780ti retails for around $700-$730...its expensive

Watchdogs is using many Nvidia specific effects, some of which aren't even supported on AMD GPUs. It may even be impossible for AMD to run 'real ultra' with every effect (TXAA, advanced PhysX) enabled. The GTX 780 TI would be a better choice for Watch Dogs.

However, you don't need a GTX 780 TI. It's a $200 (45%) increase in cost for a 15% increase in performance. Not worth it. Just get a regular GTX 780 and you'll be more than ready for Watchdogs on ultra at 60 fps.

A normal R9 290 (non X) can handle the game at ultra 60fps, 1080p.

My friend runs it at ultra with R9 290 tri-x, i7 4770k. So yeah, R9 290 is more than enough for the game.

I'm sure Watchdogs will good on a 1440p monitor powered by a 780 ti.

I'm going to use the Xbox controller for my PC version when it comes out tomorrow.

I might need to lower the settings a little bit because I have a i5 and 1440p is much more demanding than 1080p

On my 770 2gb I'm getting 60fps stable with ultra settings despite notification that I need 3GB ram for ultra textures.

With a GTX 580 I doubt it. Your question is about playing it on Ultra, and because Watch Dogs partnered with NVIDIA I would get a NVIDIA video card if you really want to play on the best details. AMD won't be able to use some settings as things like TXAA are NVIDIA only technologies.

To be fair, the game must scale quite badly with SLI. From a single 780 TI to two 780 TIs, there's only about a 40% framerate difference. Games that scale well usually get an 80%+ framerate increase.

And, ofc, it appears to be very badly optimized.
"You can mark my words, Ubisoft is going to release a bunch of zero-day patches as Watch Dogs does not seems to be behaving the way it should with better than HIGH image quality settings."

The performance will certainly improve with game patches and driver updates as did AC4 however it will still require a lot of gpu power.

Have you played AC4?

No. A 780 TI still isn't worth the extra money, but it looks like Watchdogs might require it anyway. The scaling seems broken worse than Skyrim's; 30 fps on a 660 and 50 fps on a GTX 780 TI from the early benchmarks? That's ridiculous. The GTX 780 TI should have more than double the performance of a GTX 660, not a mere 60% higher.

And the VRAM consumption is off the charts, just like GTA IV. It looks like they made Watchdogs to run on the PS4 architecture (weaker GPU, 8GB VRAM), then threw on a bunch more of effects without optimization and called it a day for the PC release.

A 770 gets 60fps average on ultra settings at 1080p. No need for a 780.
