Hello. My problem: A few days ago i discovered wierd system crashes through display artifacts or black screens. It all stopped after I replaced my MSI 270x with my old 4850. Guys on a different forum suggested me to flash a new bios into my card and I did it because of my hesitation. However I want to send the card on a warranty, but did I void it so far by using atiwinflash? I don't know that myself, so I tried to flash my old backed up bios with this program, but it freezed the system, so I had to reset during the process and now I can't even load my desktop, cause of blackscreen and strange speed up from the gpu cooler. Help please!

I placed the card again, and it asked me this time, if I want to reset CMOS to default, I pressed F1 to do it, and it came back to normal, meaning the system starts up but the crashes still appear. Do I have to flash my backed up bios or can I send it on a warranty as is?

Yeah fine, what I meant, is if I flash the previous bios properly, will it be in my favour. I really want to be cool with the warranty check, so I have the card replaced or repaired without issues.

it may go back to where you want it any bios flash is at your own risk and can brick something quick.. you can do as you feel is right as far as sending in, and they will look at it and they determine if it under warrantee and fix it for free or send you a bill to repair it plus shipping.. just face the fact you goofed and now got to pay the piper

Well then if flashing bios is withing warranty rights, I consider myself not guilty of breaking anything in this card, as it returned to the same point of damage as it was before any flashing. Thanks for your time nevertheless.

I understand where your coming from, but the manufacture is not going to care they will be all willing to help you right up intill the card is in there hands then it there digression weather to honor it or not and the first thing they will kook at is user damage or tampering the ball is now in there court if you go that way with it..
