Hello readers ,

Thanks for reading , I'm having the following problem :

My girlfriend was playing Diablo 3 when she got a black screen , but the computer was still on . The rest of the evening she always got a black screen , even if we tried to enter the BIOS.

The next day we booted the PC again, now only while streaming videos and playing games on the screen went black. We have updated Flash , the video card drivers also , but no result . However, we saw that the temperature of the video card was very high ( about 60 degrees after the start , towards the 100 while playing ). The temperature of the dual core i5 processor also somewhat high, but not so high that it would cause problems.

We have cleaned the PC , removed the graphics card, disconnected fan, also cleaned all with compressed air , not a vacuum cleaner . This yielded no results .

When we booted the PC with the case open, we saw that the fan on the graphics card is not running , sometimes it moves a little, but mostly he stands still. Catalyst (program by ATI) reports that the fan is working at 100%

It is safe to assume that the fan is the problem, and if so , what kind of fans fit this graphics card correctly?
If not, what do you think it could be problem?

Further info :

Video Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5750
Motherboard: Asus P7P55 - M
CPU : i5 - 3200 650 MHz
Power supply 500 Watt
about 4 years old

Solution
Well i am no expert but before you rip your card to pieces try downgrading your drivers, try using another utility apart from Catalyst(like msi afterburner)so you can be sure about your fan working or not.
