Asus by far.

1. Asus along with Gigabyte is one of the most reputable motherboard manufacturers out there and I personally have never had any problems with their GPUs or motherboards.

2. The Asus board has the Z87 chipset, which means that it can be used for overclocking, unlike the Intel board with the H87 chipset.

3. The Intel board doesn't even support PCI-E 3.0 x16; The highest it can go is PCI-E 2.0 x4. It also has less features and it loses to the Asus board in every aspect I can think of.

I have the Asus Z87 HERO but would have bought the PRO if, at the time, there were more reviews. I WILL buy a new Z97 PRO when i7 4790K is released. I personally think the PRO is an excellent, all around board. The Z87 PRO reviews were very positive.

I've owned Asus boards since the mid 1990s and used an AMD rig with an Asus board for 10 years with no problems before upgrading to an i7 3770K. I can't comment on Asus support or RMA because I've never used them.

Bottom line: Go with either the Z87 or new Z97 Pro. In the future should you decide to buy the Broadwell chip, you won't have to buy a new Z97 board. Just food for thought.
