I am trying to figure out why the IR remote doesn't always wake the computer from S3 sleep.
Here is the history.
I built a small pc using the ECS KBN-I/2100 itx motherboard for a HTPC. I use a wireless Lenovo RF mini keyboard and a Rosewill RRC-126 IR remote control.

When the PC goes to sleep, the wireless keyboard will always wake the computer from sleep which on the ECS KBN-I/2100 is only S3.

I really need to get it to wake up reliably with the IR remote. Right now if I press the power button on the remote, the computer successfully goes to sleep. You can hear the computer power down. If I press the power button within a couple of hours of the computer going to sleep, the computer will wake up as it should. Unfortunately if I wait for more than a few hours (i.e. overnight), the remote will no longer wake the computer and I have to use either the wireless keyboard or the power button on the computer to wake it from sleep.

Interestingly, when the computer refused to wake with the IR remote, it is as if the IR remote dongle is no longer powered as the little red led doesn't flash when the buttons on the remote are pressed.

Any thoughts on how I could troubleshoot this? As I said the wireless RF keyboard always works as it should. It is just the IR remote and doesn't work some of the time,
