Okay so as you may know the card comes with a 2 6 pin to 8 pin adapter for use with the 8 pin slot on the card...

However my PSU only seems to have 1 6pin cable

the card requires a 500wats or more PSU (which I have) so will it be okay to only use 1 6 pin?

You will need 2 6-pin connectors, it won't work with just one. What is the exact model of your power supply? It might be time for a PSU upgrade.

Whether using one of the provided adapters plus the PCIE connector from your PSU, or using 2 adapters, you will have to provide 2 physical connections to the GTX 760 (not just one).

Might be time for a better PSU. Good luck!

Wondering, will a 6 to 8 pin adapter work?

Although I don't really want to update the PSU, I'll probbaly break my PC haha! MY current one is a WinPower 500W

Yes, the adapter should be fine for the second PCIe connection on the GPU.

BTW, swapping a PSU is very easy. Most things can only be plugged into one place, one way. Just for future reference.

IS this a yes to the single 6 pin to 8 pin adapter or just using 1 6 pin in the 2 six pin to 1 eight pin adapter?

Sorry I'm a little confused at the moment haha

When I only use one 6 pin the the two 6 pin adapter a little red light shows marked LED3 right above the connector on the GPU

Thanks!

OK, this is simple. You connect the PCIe connector directly from your PSU to one of the PCIe plugs on your GPU. You attach the adapter to the Molex connectors coming from your PSU to the adapter cable and then connect that adapter connection to the second PCIe plug on the GPU.

Both plugs on the GTX 760 must have power provided to them from a PCIe power source.

If this is how you are connected now and it does not work, it could be that your PSU is not providing enough power to the GPU and system as a whole.

So like this? http://uploadir.com/u/o7zyfpfe (Sorry for the image and the confusion, it's my first time replacing a GPU)

If I turn my PC on to test, will the GPU break?

Also, if I was to switch PSU's could you recommend one please? :)

Lets back up. There is only a single 8-pin PCIe power connection on this GTX 760. So you need another adapter to convert from Molex to 6-pin PCIe to plug into the second adapter connection. As it is now, your GPU only has the single 6-pin connection coming in and it is not providing enough power.

Sorry for the confusion earlier. How much would you like to spend on a new PSU?
