i use the stock heatsink (loud/sucks), another guy in the forum said that i use the 212 evo. been

researching, i think its not available in my country anymore.

i have the antec 902 casing modded side panel, looks like this

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=16120417

the case has 2 hdd cage (fits 3 hdd each)

but i bought an hdd adapter and put 2 of my hdd's on top (3x 5.25 bay) below my dvd rw..

the case has 2 120mm intake fans facing the hdd cage,, 1x120 middle fan, 1x120 rear fan, and 200mm topfan. instead of putting hdd's, i just put
2x120mm fans at the back of the 2x120mm front intake fans,

like these

While 42C is a bit warm for idle with that CPU (core temp), it is perfectly safe. No doubt the problem is the stock cooler or old dried out thermal paste. 54C to 58C under load is also quite safe. And not all that bad for the stock cooler. Any aftermarket air cooler should be able to lower temps for you, though.
Has the thermal paste been on for a long time, over 2 years?
Has the cooler ever been removed/replaced w/o reapplying new thermal paste?

Use AMD Overdrive and check the thermal margin of the 4 cores at idle and at load: http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/amd-overdrive/Pages/overview.aspx
It's all I depend on now for my other machine (PhII X4 965BE @ 4GHZ/R9-280)

Those temps actually seem fine to me But One cooler i would recommend is and of the corsair hydro series coolers, as i don't like huge towers sitting on the motherboard like that. and ones like the h80 or h60 aren't badly priced and will keep it cooler(even though that seems normal) and will be quieter than the one you have
