So last year in December I bought a 4 TB Western Digital hard drive to add on to my PC. My PC runs windows 8.1 and already had an SDD installed as the boot drive. I installed the HDD after the SSD and I believe I properly allocated and configured the two drives in the BIOS.
6 months later and I barely used my HDD for anything and i install a second SDD for added on space because i was running low on my first SSD. Everything seemed to be running fine, having allocated the new drive, until a I started using the HDD a few days later. First, after a long gaming session the Hard drive just started to "tick" periodically every second or so. This really didn't do anything but annoy me, and I could really hear it if i wore head phones. The major problem happened I tried to use footage that I stored in HDD in windows movie maker. first the HDD refused give up any information, then windows movie maker would not respond and I couldn't even close with task manager, forcing me to shut my PC down by unplugging the power(the start button wasn't accessible and the power button wasn't working) . When I started up my PC the next day (after being utterly frustrated and giving up) everything was fine, accept I still heard the "clicking" from the HDD. I then went to try to repeat what I did the past day and use some of the data, but the HDD did not show up on windows or the bios. I tried unplugging and pluggng the SATA and PSU cables back in but nothing works.
The click can still be heard and the Hard drive does not show up any more, Help ME!!!
