Hello everyone,
I have an hp g71 laptop running windows 7 home premium x64, it is about 3-4 years old.

In the past months the laptop has become extremely slow and it always freezes and windows explorer restarts giving couple of error messages. I though to format the laptop and reinstall windows 7 home premium (I have a cd) but I do not know how to reinstall it and what to do about the driver softwares like the audio, video, keyboard, graphics, etc.

If anyone could help me please I would appreciate it

Thanks a lot for your help and time, have a nice day.

Solution
1) backup your data

2) download the drivers from the HP website, the two most important are video, LAN, and Wifi. If you are unsure which drivers you need, look in the Device Manager for make (Realtek, AMD, Broadcom, etc...)

3) Boot of the CD and at the screen where it asks to choose the drive/partition on which to install the OS, make sure you delete all current partitions first which should leave you with only one item to choose from to install to.
