Alright guys, so today I want to know if I should buy the GTX 760, save up for the GTX 770, although I recently bought an EVGA 500w psu that has 40 amps on the 12+volt rail so I don't think that's an option, or just wait for the 800 series.
Here are my PC specs if that helps:

CPU: i7-3770
GPU: GTX 660 1.5 Gb (OEM)
HDD: 2 TB Western Digital
ODD: Generic Drive
RAM: 16 GB @ 1600 MHz
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster S24B300 1080p Display

So yeah, I used to have a Dell Inc. 430w that powered my whole system until a few weeks ago when I purchased the new psu. I really do not feel like buying a new psu now, and I want to get the GTX 760, but then, like always a few days after my purchase a freakin' new line-up comes up that costs less and performs better. So yeah, I did not want to ask on any other site because this ones the best. So, any help is appreciated. THX!

Oh yeah, and one more thing, how long will the GTX 760 be able to run high to ultra settings for?

You could be waiting until Q2 of 2015 for the 8xx cards, they are going to cost more and chances are a 500W PSU will not be enough. IMO I would get the best card you can afford now and enjoy gamming now. there is always going to be a new better card on the horizon.

There is no way to know for sure how demanding futures titles are going to be, but I am sure you will get a couple of years out of a 770 before you need to upgrade, by then you could just get a second 770 for cheap and be good to go.

I would wait. You already have a GTX 660. Is it not performing well?

A GTX760 is so close in performance that you are likely to be disappointed if you don't see bigger results.

It was probably a mistake to not buy a 600w psu when you upgraded, but that is water under the dam.

I suspect that any future cards, will be more conservative of power and give better performance per watt.
But, do not expect that before next spring. And, it is unlikely that your 500w psu will be sufficient for a significantly stronger card anyway.

If you want a graphics upgrade, start with a 650w psu. Buy it used on ebay if you need to, and buy only a quality unit. Then, save up enough to buy a GTX780 class card.

I agree IF you dont want to wait for the 800's definitely get a 780.
a 760 is a good card but it is not leaps and bounds better than the 660 you have now,
the 780 is a MUCH better card
