I buy Gigabyte MA790FXT-UD5P and AMD Phenom II X6 1055T, put it all together and problem is when i connect any kind of USB it won't boot, i can't get bios or q-flash... when i disconnect them all - it works, i just don't have installed OS on HDD but i can enter bios and q-flash. Next, on post screen it say Processor : AMD Processor model unknown, ok i realize i need to flash bios, go on Gigabyte site support, download F8N bios update, format usb with FAT32, extract update but i still can't boot with USB drive connected, i try pressing end button for q-flash and it stuck at preparing to enter q-flash... (post screen), restart and than try to go bios and again it stuck on post screen... ok, i remove USB, restart, get in bios, press f8 - now i am in q-flash mode and than connect usb but i cant see it... I do all this once again but now i clear cmos, same problem, computer wont pass post screen or get in bios or q-flas with usb connected.. i try 3 diferent usb stick, i dont have floppy or cd rom right now, in bios all usb supports are enabled, please help! :)

P.S. I got good 750w psu, 2 x kingston ddr3 1333mhz ram, gts450n video card, i try with one ddr3 on each slot, i try all i can remember still cant boot from usb or flash bios :(

I'm going to try with this answer if the bios your on now don't support that chip I would say that's the issue .. you may have to get a chip that is supported under your present bios in order to do the flash... I never had that come up for me but I am surprised that you were able to get as far as you did..

Well I am surprised too, it was strange, 2 times i manage to start coping files for windows installation but i wasn't connect hdd in that moment so i must quit. I got friend who have Phenom II X3 710 cpu, he need F5 bios, i hope that F7 on mobo can handle that cpu so i can do bios upgrade. I just think that i can do that without older cpu, directly from usb... thank you anyway, tomorrow i going to take computer to him and try to fix that so i will bring solution when i do that. And sorry for bad english :)

I never got a board that did not already support the chip I got for it but if your chip takes bios #7 and your board has bios #3 I believe you have to flash the bios to the one that supports the chip first before installing that chip has to do with the chips micro codes ..

figured someone smarter on this would have backed up what I say here or a better answer for you by now
